Using your own blood to treat skin, joints or hair loss
Dermal therapy treatments
Also known as the “Vampire Facial”
PRP involves taking blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, platelets and regeneration factors that are then re injected into the skin, scalp or joints.
How does PRP work?
The doctor or nurse draws blood from your arm vein like a blood test. This is placed in a specialised test tube that is spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP – platelet rich plasma. This golden coloured fluid is then injected back into your skin, scalp or joint where the platelets, cytokines and growth factors start to heal damage from aging, degeneration or stimulate hair growth in hair bearing areas.
What conditions can be treated with PRP?
- Fine lines and wrinkles, crepey skin, dull skin
- Dark circles and fine lines around the eyes, skin laxity of the eyelids
- Hair loss
- Osteoarthritis of the knees
Preparing for your appointment
Have plenty to drink on the day of your PRP treatment.
Post-treatment guidelines
