Dermal Fillers Geelong
Tear Troughs
The tear troughs are the grooves under the eyes where a tear may run when crying, hence the name. This area may also be referred as “bags under the eyes” or the “infraorbital area”. Dark circles may appear here due to shadowing of light or pigmentation on the skin surface. If this area is troublesome it may give a tired or sad look to the face all the time. Symptoms may be exacerbated by fatigue or hay fever. Problems in the under eye area can be corrected with carefully placed dermal filler. This is a delicate area and requires careful assessment and expert treatment. A canula ( with a round tip rather than the sharp tip of a needle) is used in this treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. This treatment lasts 9-12 months.
Nasolabial Fold Dermal Filler
Nasolabial folds are the lines found between the lower sides of the nose and the corners of the mouth. These lines can be treated with dermal filler in one of two ways. The direct approach is to inject dermal filler with a fine needle behind the lines to soften them. The indirect approach is to replace lost volume in the cheeks, thereby lifting the mid face to remove downward pressure from above the lines. This second approach, if required, will give a better overall rejuvenation effect to the face. An individual assessment of each face will determine the best approach and advice for treatment. Dermal filler treatment in these areas lasts from 12 to 18 months.
Lips Enhancement
Lip enhancement and lip augmentation can be achieved by the use of lip injections, also know as dermal fillers. These are injected in to the border of the lip to improve the definition of the upper and/or lower lip and to enhance the shape of the lips. Lip injections can also be used into the body of the lip to improve lip volume for lip enhancement with improved lip definition especially in younger lips.
Chin Perioral Dermal Filler
Around the mouth, chin and lower sides of the cheek fine lines and deeper folds can appear with aging. The outside corners of the mouth can become down turned, sometimes with lines running downward from the outer corners of the mouth – these are called Marrionette lines. These signs of aging around the mouth (perioral area) can be treated with dermal fillers. This will give an immediate fresher and younger look. Treatment results last around 12 months.
Brows – Dermal Filler
The subtlest change to the shape or position of the brow can make a huge change to the overall expression or youthfulness of the face. Anti wrinkle injections are the most common procedure to effect change in this area, but dermal fillers can also be used. A very small amount of product can be used expertly below the brow to change the shape, add an arch or provide a lift. Treatment results last 9-12 months.
Can be added in with treatment of another area.
Cheek / Midface Dermal Filler
One of the most consistent signs of aging is loss of subcutaneous volume from the cheeks. Rejuvenating the mid face by replacing lost volume with dermal fillers is a common procedure. Dermal fillers are placed with a fine needle or canula under the skin to re contour the cheeks and create a lift in the mid face. This in turn will soften nasolabial folds (the lines running from the lower sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth). The product chosen for this treatment is placed in the deep layers and lasts 12 – 18 months before natural degradation by the body.
Jawline Shaping / Treatment of Jowls
A smooth, even jawline is a sign of youth. Sagging skin along the jawline can cause an irregular contour or jowl that ages the face from the frontal view and profile. Dermal fillers can be used to re define a lost jawline and remove the appearance of jowls.
Temples Treatment with Dermal Filler
With advancing age or loss of weight volume can be lost from the temple area. This gives an angular concavity to the sides of the face outside of the eyes. With this comes a loss of the youthful oval face shape. Replacing lost volume here restores this oval shape but also works to lift the face and to contour the lateral brow. Treatment results last 9-18 months depending on the product chosen.
The Male Aesthetic
Dermal fillers can be used for male patients to treat all indications. The most popular areas for treatment are nasolabial folds, jawlines and cheeks. It is important to understand the differences in aesthetics between beautifying a female face and improving the attractiveness of a male face. The male face requires different ratios and the sharpening of angles to produce an optimal result, while avoiding feminising and softening of features. Retaining an individual approach with assessment and discussion of each client’s needs is important.
