This latest revolutionary technology offers amazing results for those concerned with scarring, stretch marks, acne, enlarged pores, pigmentation disorders including sun damage, acral vitiligo and melasma, ageing skin, and overall rejuvenation.
The difference between the Dermapen 3 and the Dermapen 4 includes (but certainly not limited to) a faster and superior treatment with greater patient comfort due to precise and reliable drag free needle penetration.
The Dermapen 4 allows for a personalised treatment with adjustable needle depth penetration of up to 3mm. Dermapen 4 uses 16 microneedles with 4-speed options, allowing the needles to oscillate at a speed of up to 120 revolutions per second.
Whilst the facial region is often the primary concern for our clients, the Dermapen 4 has the ability to treat all areas of the body. Delicate regions should not be forgotten, as treatment of these zones can offer the greatest benefits and results. This advanced technology allows us to treat the earlobes, neck, décolletage, lips, back of hands and eyes (including the eyelids in order to achieve peri-orbital rejuvenation). The scalp can also be treated to induce a ‘facelift’ effect.
So, what is skin needling you might ask…
Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) or Micro-Needling, skin needling is a non-invasive treatment using microscopic needles and device oscillation to penetrate the skin.
Mild penetration of the epidermis and dermis causes microdamage, resulting in the body responding to this damage with regrowth and repair through our natural wound healing process. This response, in turn, will help stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and new growth factors to improve various skin functions. Through creating these microchannels our skin is then able to absorb 80% more topical nutrients, allowing for greater product absorption.
Essentially micro-needling works to ‘rewrite your skin history’ by healing skin trauma, retexturizing and creating overall skin renewal.
Micro-needling has proven to be a successful treatment for many dermal concerns, working wonders on your overall skin health. The fact that the treatment also comes with very minimal downtime and side-effects is another great advantage of skin needling. Although a mild sunburn sensation and erythema may be present for the first 24-48 hours after your treatment, daily activities can generally be continued the same or following day.
We do, however, ask our clients to avoid strenuous exercise, direct sun exposure or any activities that may cause excessive heat or perspiration following their Dermapen treatment. Mineral makeup can be applied the day of your treatment to camouflage any redness.
