Smoother and firmer skin can be achieved with radiofrequency microneedling. This treatment involves a stamp with many very thin microneedles that create microscopic injuries to the skin while heating the deeper dermis layer of the skin to cause tightening and cell regeneration.
Radiofrequency skin microneedling feels like a very rapid blast or stamp to the skin. The tip that we use has a vibrating feature that distracts your nerve cells from feeling pain. After the skin is treated it can feel a little warm/swollen or itchy.
What skin concerns does RF microneedling treat?
RF microneedling is a good treatment for the signs of aging, particularly the combination of fine lines and skin sagging or laxity. It is great for treating accordion lines across the lower cheeks, jowl sagging, crepey skin and fine lines around the eyes, or lip lines.
Preparing for your appointment
Your dermal clinician may prescribe you a skincare regime to follow for 2-4 weeks pre treatment to prepare your skin if you are prone to hyperpigmentation, melasma or skin sensitivity.
Post-treatment guidelines
No hot sweaty exercise or swimming for 48 hours

What is the difference between RF microneedling and regular skin needling?
RF microneedling emits tiny RF heat pulses at the tips of the needles, harnessing 2 different technologies to treat and tighten your skin. It is performed with the TriLift machine.
Regular skin needling is utilising only the microneedles causing tiny channels to stimulate healing and regeneration. It is done with the Dermapen.
How frequently can I have RF microneedling?
Sessions should be spaced at least 4 weeks apart.
Can I combine RF microneedling with other treatments?
Yes – commonly our patients choose to have a TriLift treatment – which combines RF microneedling with 2 other modalities in the one session (DMST – Dynamic Muscle Stimulation and Tripolar Radiofrequency).
Can I have RF microneedling in one specific area of the face rather than full face?
Yes – we have treatments for just around the eyes, just the lip lines, or a specific scar area.
