Treatments

At GVSL you will have a comprehensive medical assessment with one of our doctors discussing your sweating history and how it affects you, medications and medical conditions. Your doctor will discuss the range of treatments available to combat sweating.

The most common and effective treatment is an injectable treatment that switches off the sweat glands for 6-12 months. The injection treatment procedure and effects will be explained. A grid of tiny injections into the skin is applied by the doctor. Numbing cream can be used for comfort.

FAQ
How effective is the treatment?

Sweating injection treatment is very effective, with a reduction in sweating seen in all patients within 3-4 days.

How long does it last?

6-12 months.

Does it hurt?

We use very tiny needles, but you may feel small pin pricks. We use a numbing cream to lessen the pain. The treatment is usually tolerated well in the armpits. Palms and soles of the feet can be more sensitive and we may use ice or nerve blocks in these locations.
